Mangosteen is a tropical evergreen fruit-tree grown in the tropical areas in Asia. The flavor of the fruit is sweet & tangy with some similarities to the lychee fruit. The fruit first appears in the Chinese language around the 1500’s & seems to have been introduced to Europe later by Carl von Linné.
The mangosteen is considered one of the most expensive fruits in the world due to its short harvest season & relatively difficult farming practices. We have paired mangosteen with sencha & jasmin green tea, creating an excellent tea blend that can be enjoyed hot as well as cold.
