In 1148, during the Second Crusade, the French Crusader Robert de Brie took part in the Siege of Damascus. On his way back he allegedly brought back the most wonderfully perfumed rose, the Damascus Rose. This extraordinary flower has given millions of people pure joy, since it was & still is considered the ultimate rose scent in perfumes.
Not only does this marvellous rose smell wonderful, it is also quite tasty & has therefore been used in desserts & tisanes for hundreds, maybe thousands of years. We want you to be able to taste a part of the high society of Damascus.
